This modern house is called Noyack Creek House. The house became a study in architectural theatre: a series of spaces in a carefully scripted sequence that subtly reflect his professional life. The amazing Noyack Creek House both excites the senses as it confuses them with it’s seemingly out of place design.

The path begins at the front door where perforated privacy screens slide apart like a curtain, revealing the loft-like living and dining spaces. The direction of the deck boards that make up the flooring is altered to demarcate the path through the space, emerging seamlessly to an exterior waterside deck.

Pebble by Benjamin Hubert for De Vorm Held in Place by a Powder-coated Steel Band


The unique chairs above and below has designed British designer Benjamin Hubert, called Pebble. A collection of seating for Dutch furniture brand De Vorm in London Design Festival 09.
The legs are made of oak and held in place by a powder-coated steel band.

The collection will be launched at 100% Design in London next week.

Kuhlhaus 02 modern Manhattan Beach home in 2009 Fall Home Tour


On October 4th will taken place 2009 Fall Home Tour by The Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects , featuring a variety of architect designed homes in the picturesque community of Manhattan Beach.

For one day only, architecture and design fans will comes to see some of the most striking modern Manhattan Beach homes, including the Kuhlhaus 02 home, which was designed by LeanArch Architects.

The modern architecture home located in the Gaslight District of Manhattan Beach is one in a series of homes commissioned by Kuhlhaus Development, LLC and produced by the award-winning Los Angeles based Design/Build firm Lean Arch, Inc. Committed to responsible development – redefining the modern home in response to concerns regarding energy consumption, land-use and the environment – this solar powered home with an open plan and large glass sliding doors create both visual and physical continuity between the interior and exterior.

Flexible use spaces including the multiple outdoor patio and deck areas and a nod to “industrial chic” through use of building materials demonstrate why Kuhlhaus 02 is Build It Green rated.
